The Croisette store opened in 1938 has known multiple incarnations, the latest being an exclusive yachting-spirited concept involving wood decking, porthole windows and cabin-like spaces whose contouring reminds us of ships’ hulls. The new white-marble frontage confers a wonderful luminosity echoed by the interior colour scheme featuring gold and bronze hues, ecru and caramel wood, plus a wall painting riffing on the Palmier brooch created in 1957. Versatile furnishings mean the place can metamorphose for social events such as a cocktail party or concert. This was the new setting in which Cartier’s iconic Panthère watch had its preview relaunch during the Cannes Film Festival.
