This great Italian designer has clad and shod our planet's top fashionistas and stars. His platform shoes, gladiator sandals and chic sneakers have an identity, and no less a soul, all their own. So after Venice and Abu Dhabi, France's first Giuseppe Zanotti shop opened in Saint-Tropez last April: two floors of natural-hued maritime ambience, displaying the latest creations in the historic women's line and the more recent men's collection. Somewhere between manga culture and Johnny Cash, style becomes attitude: sharply pointed shoes, maxi metal zips, a jewellery snake to coil around the ankle, an oversized backpack and so forth. The 2014 collection is wild, its elegance extreme, in a punk-rock spirit embracing tribal references.
