Le chott El-Jerid
This salt lake covers nearly 5000km2, its salt wavelets, as if frozen in time, stretching as far as the eye can reach. For most of the year the salt is dry and the wind blows it into drifts that sometimes give an impression of walking in snow.
Nefta
The charm of this village is the Corbeille de Nefta, a small palm grove in a dip below the village, where hot and cold springs feed a big pool where local children play. Further along, an immense palm grove borders the "beach" beside
Chott El-Jerid.
