10 years of acquisitions with Bruno Ely. Art historian Bruno Ely has been chief curator of the Musée Granet since January 2009, and has organised such exhibitions as Sainte-Victoire – Cézanne, Cézanne en Provence and Picasso Cézanne, le soleil en face. The museum – which already existed when Cézanne, "father of modern art", was born – continues to thrive. It is constantly evolving and was renovated in 2006. The current exhibition interweaves the stories of the works, artists and collectors involved in the past 10 years of acquisitions, a journey that takes us from the original holdings to the modern collection and contemporary art, through some 50 paintings, sculptures, graphic artworks, photographs and installations.
