Dear long-distance travellers, these watches have been designed for you! Their world-time function lets you know the time in several cities at once.
It didn't take long for the collectors to give into temptation and place their orders! Scarcely out of its wrappers at Baselworld and Patek Philippe's latest gem, the Ref. 5930, was attracting unanimous praise. The timepiece powered by a new house movement delivers an unprecedented pairing of two functions, chronograph and world time, in addition to having a sublime circular blue dial guillochéed by hand. Montblanc celebrates its 110th anniversary by paying tribute to the glory days of its birth, when ports were experiencing exponential growth and development. New in the Montblanc 4810 collection is the Orbis Terrarum driven by an automatic movement, the MB 29.20 calibre. To the hours and minutes it adds a world-time function plus a day/night display, while its dial shows the continents as seen from the North Pole along with 24 cities each representing a time zone.
At Corum it's the emblematic Admiral’s Cup that has this year been given the function: the boldly designed Legend 47 Worldtimer displays the hours, minutes and seconds but also a second time zone and corresponding city. Jaeger-LeCoultre's Geophysic® Universal Time likewise puts the world at our fingertips via a high-precision calibre. Its dial shows the continents engraved and finished with a sunburst motif and the seas in graduated shades of blue lacquer. The planisphere is fixed but the time can be read in 24 time zones simultaneously thanks to a moving disc.
