The newly-renovated Toulon art museum is showing painters and photographers with a penchant for Mediterranean shores. Picasso is the star guest, along with his artist friends and the places he loved. From the Spain of his youth to the places that inspired him in Provence and on the Riviera, he painted the light and the sea with ever-renewed sharpness and vigour. The exhibition covers the various periods that nourished his creativity: Impressionist, Cubist, Fauve. Paintings by Raoul Dufy, Georges Braque, André Derain and Kisling and photos by Lucien Clergue, Robert Capa, André Villers and others complete the pleasure of this trip along the Mediterranean coast from Cadaquès to Cannes.
