Sand, sport and culture

This year Marseille's real beaches had better watch out: this summer the J4 esplanade beside MuCEM (Museum of European and Mediterranean civilisations) becomes a vast field of sand, with all kinds of games, sports and leisure activities laid on for people of all ages, including some cultural entertainments connected with the museum. And surprises, too. The MuCEM Plage programme, drawn up in partnership with the Yes We Camp collective of artists, urbanists and architects, ups the pace at nightfall with music for every taste and in every style: Apéro Mix on Thursdays, MuCEM Etoiles on Fridays (acoustic music and star gazing), Sardinade on Saturdays and the big dance on Sundays.
