After the Grand Palais in Paris, it's the Musée Granet's turn to show us a selection from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the first museum on the West Coast of the USA to devote itself to 20th-century art. It boasts one of the world's finest collections of contemporary American art, enriched by an outstanding donation from the Fisher family. This is a unique chance to see art produced since 1960 by some 15 major American artists including Andy Warhol, Sol LeWitt, Alexander Calder, Cy Twombly, Roy Lichtenstein and Chuck Close. A rich, dense offering of outstanding artworks by pioneers of abstract art, pop art and minimalism, pictorial abstraction and figurative painting.
