From 1960 to 1968, Horacio Garcia-Rossi, Julio Le Parc, François Morellet, Francisco Sobrino, Joël Stein and Jean-Pierre Yvaral worked together as the Groupe de Recherche d'Art Visuel (visual art research group). Enthralled by moving light and optical illusions, doing research in science and technology as well as art, they created works that attract the eye but disturb our perception. From G.R.A.V. to Michel Paysant and his Nano Optic Art, this kind of work, reflecting on visual perception and the surprises that light can spring, spans three generations.
