François de Asis, who hails from Aix, depicts what he feels as he works from nature, always out of doors. He fills big sketch books with his drawings. Deeply influenced by his encounter the German painter Léo Marchutz, he has explored early cubism and Cézanne, with an increasingly close attention to landscape and nature.
