Last year the Toulon art museum ran an excellent exhibition called A Table en Provence, revealing Provençal culinary identity as reflected in art over the centuries. In this year’s show, called Délices d’artistes, it’s the turn of contemporary artists to put their slant on food, meals and the still life genre. Painting, sculpture, decorative arts, installations, photos and more. Nearly all the «chefs» who cooked up these delights are from the far South of France between Nice and Sète: Arman, Spoerri, Ben, Bernard Plossu, Hervé Di Rosa, Natacha Lesueur, Robert Combas, Marie Ducaté, Saverio Lucariello, Gérard Traquandi, Serge Plagnol, Solange Triger etc. And there’s an amazing chocolate installation by Claire Dantzer. A great menu.
