Choreographer Julien Lestel is back onstage at the Opéra de Marseille, where he brought us a magnificent Puccini in 2014. The new ballet is like a game of mirrors: Lestel has taken inspiration from his own life and personal experiences to play himself as a choreographer with his dancers. The technical performance is as engrossing as ever, and Max Richter’s modern music is in perfect harmony with the choreography.
