Hans Hartung :

Aubagne pays tribute.

Two current exhibitions are devoted to this major artist who fought all his life for art and against Nazism. The first, Les Sublimations du Sud at the Pénitents Noirs art centre, shows us 17 canvases painted as performance works between 11 and 16 July 1989. The second, Beau geste, Hans Hartung peintre et légionnaire at the Musée de la Légion Etrangère, is made up of older works and addresses the painter’s time in the Free French Army.
