The utopian brilliance of Victor Vasarely’s seminal oeuvre is on show simultaneously in Aix, Avignon and Gordes, in honour of 110th anniversary of the artist’s birth and the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Fondation Vasarely in Aix. Three venues for enjoying exuberant brightness of Vasarely’s work and of the Provence he loved. The artist’s grandson Pierre Vasarely, president of the Fondation, organised the celebration in collaboration with museums in Budapest and Pecs in Hungary, Musée Vouland in Avignon and the commune of Gordes. From what we see here, the future looks bright for a cultural heritage that still has many unexplored treasures in store.
