In Aix-en-Provence, city of fountains, we’re invited to bathe in a world of light and colour at an exhibition of 80 paintings by Charles Camoin and his fellow Fauvists Matisse, Marquet and Manguin, whose lives and work were linked through him. Camoin and his work are the exhibition’s central theme. He hailed from Marseille and although his career was Parisian and international, his roots were always in Provence. There is something familiarly Provençal in the expressive visual language of his paintings.
Jusqu’au 2 octobre.
