Marseille’s municipal contemporary art museum (MAC) is celebrating the Year of Korea in France with an entertaining exhibition of work by a Korean artist whose work reviews our aesthetic standards from ancient Greece to today. Criss-crossing between multiple aesthetic worlds, Cody Choy produces hybrid works with an ever-present humorous touch. His critical intent finds expression with a knowing smile and significant artistic skill. Sculptures, installations and drawings are shown alongside items from the museum’s reserve stores. Marseille has reason to be proud of the MAC!
