Charles Sandison is a geek! With this immersive light installation, created especially for the Pénitents Noirs art centre, he has tried to talk love to a computer. His inspiration was the idea of the micro-organisms that were the first life forms on Planet Earth. He hopes visitors will let their minds meld into his digital creation and so become aware of the way technology affects our behaviour. Put simply, he has designed a complex computer programme which generates signs. Spectators are invited to immerse themselves in the chapel’s remodelled architecture and wander around to imbibe its significance and sensuality.
