The Roque d’Anthéron piano festival has been a major event on the global music scene for 38 years now. While the park of Château de Florans is still the festival’s focal point, a number of other emblematic venues in the region have joined in. This year there are 14 of them hosting recitals and concerts during the sweet summer evenings. The programme has become broader too, now embracing jazz and electronic etc. along with the usual classical and contemporary. Among this year’s crop of top international musicians and young talents are pianists Yulianna Avdeeva (Russia), Florent Boffard (France), Nelson Friere (Brazil), Kotaro Fukuma (Japan) and many others of equal brilliance.
