Une équipe de pros pour vous conseiller.

There’s no celebration without wine. Choose one that pairs well with the food and you’re instantly raised to the status of one who has mastered the art of living.

«We sell a lot of magnums during the festive season,» says Sébastien Carle, sales manager at La Route des Vins. «It’s the best container. Wine keeps better and matures better in a one-and-a-half litre bottle,» not to mention the festive impact of a magnum on the table... «At La Route des Vins we have been promoting biodynamic wines for years now. It’s a system of winegrowing and maturation we believe in,» says Sébastien, who offers a wide range. For festive meals and to drink with shellfish, he says, «choose a lively, fresh, dry white wine like a Chablis or a Sancerre. In Provence, a Clos Sainte-Magdeleine Cassis will be perfect.» For poultry, «you have the choice between a red like a Burgundy Pinot and a white like a Croze-Hermitage – Domaine Combier’s Clos des Grives cuvée, for example.» And for the last course, a pink champagne will pair perfectly with a fruity dessert: «Everyone will love a Laurent-Perrier rosé de saignée or a Billecart-Salmon.» But if your dessert is cocoa- or chocolate-based, «I strongly recommend a vintage port like Ramos Pinto, or an AOC Maury – Mas Amiel is one of the best ambassadors for that appellation.»
