Lafayette Gourmet opened this summer in a completely renovated 2000m2 space in the Bourse shopping centre in Marseille. It's a new concept in France and will soon be introduced in Paris, Nice and elsewhere. Walking in you find Café Lafayette with its light, bright, fully air-conditioned indoor terrace, and the escalators to the vast food hall. There you'll find groceries, fresh fruit and veg, meat and fish, plus a pleasant juice bar and a sea-food-and-oysters tasting area. Just like a really good covered food market in the heart of town.
