Onde tomar brasileiro café em Marselha? Where can you find good Brazilian coffee in Marseille? We’ve tracked down some Yellow Bourbon for you.
Brazil, the world’s foremost coffee producing country, has its own coffee-drinking rituals. In the morning it’s always drunk with milk – the famous cafe com leite. During the day, it’s served as cafezinho, strong and black. Marseille-based family firm Henry Blanc, founded in 1980, roasts and distributes the magical brew to cafés, hotels, restaurants and businesses. In 1988 a meeting with Torréfaction Noailles led to a new concept for sophisticated coffee shops. In 2002 CEO Jean-Luc Blanc, son of Henry Blanc, installed the whole business, from roasting and bagging to capsule manufacturing and storage, in a 3000m2 building in La Capelette. Michèle Blanc has inherited the family’s passion at full strength: “We select 100% Arabica Brazilian coffees such as Santos Orione and Yellow Bourbon, a Fazenda Rainha appellation that grows at altitude in the São Paulo region. For some connoisseurs its mild acidity and honey-and-maple-syrup aromas make it the ideal first taste of the morning. For others it’s an afternoon coffee, to be savoured like a good cup of tea.“ Taste it at Torréfaction Noailles in the Terrasses du Port shopping centre!
