For its third edition, Acontraluz has moved to the Prado beaches, Marseille, for two great evenings of dancing, leaping around, taking a dip and generally getting off on the music.
The first two editions of Acontraluz (the festival’s name means ”sundown”) were held on the J4 esplanade by the MuCEM museum, with more than 13,000 people attending last year. This year’s jamboree should be even better with the Prado beaches as venue, bringing starry skies and midnight dips into the mix along with some of the best DJs of the moment: 20syl & Mr. J. Medeiros present AllitA (Live), Andre Bratten (Live), Audion (Live), Claptone, D.K., Edu Imbernon, Kölsch, LeMarquis, Locked Groove, Tale Of Us and more. Muy caliente! Put together by Edouard Rostang (the brains behind festivals such as Calvi On The Rocks, BIG in Biarritz and Black Weekend), Acontraluz is happening on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 July from 6.30pm to 3am, and Sunday 24 July from noon to 11pm. The festival has been earning a name for itself far beyond Marseille and can now be reckoned one of the unmissable dates in any electro fan’s diary. It has to be said that the new setting will help: the sea, the beach, the city lights in the background. There’s even a carpool scheme to get everyone there.
