Wine shop, bistronomic restaurant, shop/showroom and four holiday flats to let: the Buon concept is an invitation to discover a whole new lifestyle. Intimate and authentic.
“When we found this space on Rue Grignan – an absolutely ideal location – we immediately thought of developing a concept in Marseille. I’ve been in this town a long, long time,” adds Laurent Katz wryly. He’s the initiator of the Buon project, a place destined to house several city living venues. The first one to open is a wine store called La Cave des Papilles. It is a faithful follower of its Paris namesake, offering natural wines and wines from independent growers in all appellations: Loire, Burgundy, Alsace, Provence and more. “No fewer than 400 wines, with a special focus on our discoveries and favourites. It’s our identity, our trademark.”
A concept that chimes with the times
Maison Buon is taking shape gradually, to be ready by summer. As well as the wine shop there’s already a bistronomic restaurant, Madame Jeanne, where the menu takes inspiration from high-quality seasonal ingredients. “I strongly emphasise the idea of high standards and sincerity. We want to make these values the overarching theme for our project. Madame Jeanne will share the same authenticity as our selections for the wine shop: simple and natural.” Expect to pay €35 in the evening; at lunchtime the formula is more business-oriented.
Maison Buon also includes a space that will house pop-up events: exhibitions, meetings, get-togethers, fashion presentations, tastings – anything at all as long as it’s in harmony with the project as a whole. The story continues upstairs, where four holiday flats of 30 to 80m2 will be available soon. The well-lit, restful apartments in designer style will be let via Maison Buon’s website, which will present all the activities of a project that’s firmly focused on conviviality, social connection and the true art of living.
