cote sud

Les démonstrations culinaires avec Edouard Loubet et Julia Sammut, temps forts du salon.

The Vivre Côté Sud home and garden fair is back in Aix for its 19th edition this June. The theme of the year is Blue, and cooks have been called in to do their bit.

Meeting people and discovering decoration trends to redo your home, terrace or garden: there’s something for every taste and in every colour at this year’s Vivre Côté Sud fair. This 19th edition is inviting some professional cooks to fish some delicacies from the deep blue sea. Every day, in the setting of an idyllic kitchen, chefs are celebrating the Mediterranean, source of so many good things. Anne Garabédian, presenter on the France Bleu Provence radio station, is hosting discussions about cooking fish and seafood. Matthieu Dupuis-Baumal of Domaine de Manville in Baux-de-Provence is there with his kitchen crew, «and also,» says Anne Garabédian, «Julien Diaz from Marseille, telling us his secrets for cooking octopus, and the team from the Mazzia brothers’ tapas bar, the Pointe-Noire, in AIx-en-Provence.» Not forgetting the star of the year, Fanny Rey, who has won her first Michelin star in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, and the boundlessly good-humoured Sammut family, Reine and her daughters Julia (with a fine grocery shop in Marseille) and Nadia (who runs the family restaurant in Cadenet). Italy is there too, with Anna Bini talking about pasta and Davide Dalmasso, owner of the Cambuse, showing the best Italian products. On the Sunday evening a whole bunch of cooks is concocting ten seafood specialties, using olive oils that won prizes at the last Concours Général Agricole. And to each dish its wine: the Luberon winegrowers are partnering the cooking demonstrations.

Vivre Côté Sud, parc Jourdan, Aix-en-Provence, du 2 au 5 juin. Entrée : 10 et 7 €.
Démonstrations et dégustations chaque jour à 11h30, 15h30 et 17h30.
