  • Fatosme & Lefèvre: hotel madness

Winner of the COTissimo prize for best renovated business premises, the C2 hotel is a conversion of the very highest quality, incorporating ultramodern luxury in a 19th-century mansion.

The C2 hotel, named after its founders and architects Claire Fatosme and Christian Lefèvre, opened in April. Both architects love old buildings and they bought this one with an ambitious project for a luxury hotel in mind. It took two years to adapt the building to its new purpose, reorganising the volumes, adding a storey, digging out the new patio and enhancing the beauty of the original. The grand marble staircase, mouldings and painted ceilings have been restored to the highest standards and close attention to detail. A tremendous challenge, to which a number of artists and designers added their own touch of fantasy, for example in the 16 rooms and suites. The 'African room' boasts a 'Cabana bed' designed by the Campana brothers for Edra, while Guy Bargin designed the carpets with a map of Marseille, so that guests can see where they are as they look out of the window.
