Jérémy Julien, Jordy Pons, Mathieu Dugas and Elsa Rigal had long dreamed of opening their own restaurant in the Endoume district. A dream come true! With help from the lady architects at Les Architectrices, they have transformed a former bakery into one of Marseille’s new must-go restaurants. Its name, Matière Brut (raw material) tips a wink at the decor, in which bare concrete features large. On the food side, nothing has been left to chance. This is full-blooded cuisine, virile and packed with flavour (an aspect the restaurant makes much of), served in generous helpings. The wall of wine racks, designed by Edouard Mireur, is a splendidly eye-catching addition.
