It needs no introduction. Well-known to jazz fans, this beach is a tribute to saxophonist Barney Wilen and a nod to the music that permeates the place. La Note Bleue, founded in 2001, is reinventing itself under the impetus of the new Larvotto regeneration project without losing any of its energy or conviviality. From breakfast to dinner, the menu created by Laurent Paya, the beach’s long-standing chef, has evolved over the years, taking in cuisines from around the world without forgetting the surrounding Mediterranean. Thai salads rub shoulders with the classic Niçoise, and a red seafood curry competes with artichoke-spinach risotto à la Romana and roast octopus. In the evening, the beach transforms into a veritable waterfront stage. The Live Wednesdays this month and Summer Festival programme feature some of the biggest names in the jazz, soul, and funk scene – the complete programme is on the website.
